Coating Machine
The OFEC Coating Machine is auxiliary equipment in organic fertilizer production lines, designed to apply liquid or powder coating agents onto organic fertilizer granules for anti‑caking, slow‑release control, or color enhancement. With drum diameters from 0.8 to 2.5 meters and capacities from 1 to 200 TPH, it features a reliable structure and flexible operation.
Product Overview
In organic fertilizer production, most manufacturers add a coating process after cooling and before packaging to reduce caking of finished granules, improve fertilization efficiency, or meet specific market preferences for granule appearance and color. This is achieved by applying coating agents to the granule surface.
The drum interior is fitted with strip‑shaped lifting flights to ensure thorough tumbling of granules, allowing the coating agent to evenly cover every granule surface.
Equipment Components
A – Drum: Core working component where coating takes place
B – Feeding Device: Feeds material into the drum
C – Discharging Device: Discharges coated material
D – Support Wheel Assembly: Supports the rotating drum
E – Transmission: Drives the drum rotation
F – Guard Cover: Safety protection
G – Rolling Ring (Tyre): Works with support wheels
H – Big Gear: Drive component
I – Pinion: Drive component

Working Principle
The coating machine operates as follows: material enters the inclined rotating drum from the feed end. The drum interior is equipped with strip‑shaped lifting flights welded to the middle section. As the drum rotates, the flights continuously lift and tumble the granules, creating a continuous rolling motion inside the drum.
Liquid Coating: For liquid coating agents (such as anti‑caking oil, slow‑release liquids, etc.), OFEC provides corresponding tanks and pump systems. The liquid is sprayed through nozzles extending from the drum end into the interior, atomizing the coating agent for even application onto the granule surfaces.
Powder Coating: For powder coating agents (such as diatomaceous earth, kaolin, lime, bentonite, etc.), a screw feeder delivers the powder into the coating machine at a set rate. As the granules tumble, the powder uniformly coats the granule surfaces, forming a hard, smooth protective shell.
After coating treatment, the organic fertilizer granules exhibit improved appearance, reduced caking tendency, and better resistance to breakage during conveying – making them more suitable for long‑term storage and long‑distance transport.
